3rd Annual Bebop-a-Looza

Hello Everyone,

Below is the information about the 3rd Annual Bebop-a-Looza, the dinner and dance where the proceeds from the Riverdale Share Concert are handed out.  The Toronto Danforth Liberals were a sponsor of the Riverdale Share Concert and I have suggested that we help spread the news about the dinner and dance.

Thanks very much.

Karen Somerville

For the past 19 years the Riverdale Share Community Association has been raising money for organizations that support families in crisis. Our annual spring dinner and dance, ‘Bebop-a-looza’, gives the community an opportunity to see the results of their generosity as well as enjoy a wonderful dinner by Magic Oven and dance to the swinging sounds of the Bebop Cowboys and some very special guests.

Special Guests this year include: The Sultans of String, Mike Tanner, Terra Hazelton, Russell deCarle and Tabby Johnson.

Second Cup is on hand with dessert and coffee/tea and Mill Street supplies the beer. Wine is also available and special door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.

It’s a wonderful warm and fuzzy night of fun, food and frolic and a great ‘bang-for-the-buck’ at only $40.00. With limited tickets available it’s important to book your tickets now!

This is a ticketless event. Purchase your tickets through PayPal by clicking the link below, or order with VISA at 416-465-1944 to add your name to the guest list. We look forward to seeing you on May 1st.

Dalton McGuinty on 2010 Budget

For a two min video of the Premier follow this link.

Here is the text from the party’s release:

Our five-year Open Ontario plan will create new opportunities for jobs and growth in our province.

Ontario Liberals have made progress in our schools, hospitals, and other public services. The 2010 Budget protects our progress—while responsibly working to eliminate the deficit caused by the global recession.

Here are some highlights of our plan:

  • Adding 20,000 new student spaces to colleges and universities this fall (September, 2010)
  • Aiming to get 70% of Ontarians into post-secondary education (up from 62% now)
  • Ensuring that every qualified Ontarian who wants to go to college or university will be able to do so
  • Introducing full-day learning in almost 600 schools this fall, benefiting up to 35,000 four- and five-year-old students
  • Fully implementing full-day learning across the province by 2015-16, helping almost 250,000 children succeed
  • Saving 8,500 child care spaces in our communities from federal funding cuts—and helping 1,000 child care workers keep their jobs
  • Reducing industrial electricity prices in the North by almost 25% in 3 years—helping to preserve and create jobs
  • Creating an annual Northern Ontario Energy Credit of up to $130 for a single person and up to $200 per family—over half of Northerners would benefit
  • Providing skills training to support new economic development opportunities, like the Ring of Fire
  • A realistic and responsible plan to eliminate the deficit — Ontario Liberals will not put job creation and economic growth at risk by cutting too much too soon; nor will we spend as if there is no deficit.

The Ontario Liberal plan will create an Ontario even more open to new ideas, new people, new investments—and new jobs.
